⸻
HISTORY & SIGNIFICANCE
Army Pathfinders trace their origins to World War II, where specially trained Soldiers were inserted ahead of main forces to establish drop zones, landing zones, and navigational aids for airborne and air assault operations. Their mission required precision, initiative, and the ability to operate independently behind enemy lines.
The Pathfinder badge symbolizes technical expertise, leadership, and trust. Those who earn it are recognized for their ability to guide forces safely and effectively into combat, carrying forward a legacy of excellence and reliability within the Army’s most demanding missions.
